Scurge Hive
There are few people that can be called upon when all else has failed and no one wants the job, but in SCURGE: HIVE it is bounty hunter Jenosa Arma. It has been two days since the emergency beacon has gone off at a top secret research facility that was studying an organism known only as the scurge in an attempt to understand its outrageous metamorphic and energy properties. In response to this distress signal, the government has placed a call to the one person they think they can rely on to take care of this dirty job. That happens to be Jenosa Arma, and she must find out exactly what it was that the facility was up to because she has to head out there to clean up the mess.

It was bought for a xmas gift last yr for a 10 yr old. It worked great, came as described and on time, she just didnt seem to enjoy it. -- game
I'd say this game is pretty well made, the animations are smooth (till fire oddly..), and the gameplay is classic with some added newer stuff. Though you'll have to understand, this game is pretty much the same as the one on GBA, so it's not pushing the DS graphically by any means. But that doesn't mean it doesn't look good, it plays like a Metroid game would from above, you get upgrades and different gun shots, and you save at stations (imagine that) and you gain levels as you beat enemies, though the game does have some twists to make it more difficult. You're infected with a virus, as you go your infection rate goes up, get to a save point and clear your infection before your infection reaches 100% or your HP gets drained fast.
That doesn't mean the game is timed, you have to make sure you hit save/decontamination stations along the way or you'll be drained of heath.
For the price, the game is a steal, I saw a very lengthy one star review of this and figured that it should be said how this game is. Not being critical about graphics. The gameplay is something to get used to, once you do, it's similar to Metroid. Check out some vids, best way to tell if something is good besides actually trying it. -- Like Metroid from above
I got this game used at GameStop for a mere $7.99. I ripped open the package as soon as I could. I shoved the game in the DS. When I started the game, I had no idea how to play, and the guy who had used it had already unlocked "Hard" mode. At the moment, he was at the final boss in Hard. Naturally a newbie who didn't know how to play got crushed by the final boss while he was INSANELY Hard. So I restarted in Normal, and up till I got to the tether I had a great time. Now I have a question. The guy didn't leave the Instruction book, so you know that room after the tether? The first room that has the Pressure plates? How do you get from the platform up to the ledge after you activate the platform and lower it so you can get on? I am stuck there.
Anyway, it's a great game but a little hard. -- A little confusing but GREAT!
I have good fun playing this game, the history is good (if you like sci-fi) the dialogues are funny and the action is constant. What I feel out of place are the graphics, they are very similar to a game boy advance game. I know that the game was launched for the GBA but using the same graphics having more processor capacity is a little lazy from the development part. The map in the lower screen is good, havĂng a 2 screems game play is risk, so I have no complains about That.
In resume, a good game, great action, good control, but could use better the graphic capacities of the DS -- Good game, but needs more flash
