User Reviews about My Fashion Studio

I love how the game lets your inner diva fashion sytle come out. I got the game for my little cousin but I had to go get another for me. It is a great game for the furture fashion icon. -- Great design game!!
Both of my daughters love this game. I actually had to purchase a second game so they wouldn't argue over who is going to play this game. In this game you actual get to cut, sew, iron, pick fabric color and style of outfits, and then get graded on how fast you do the design (among other things). It starts out easy so you get the hang of each action, then gets harder. My girls love this game and play it more than any other DS game they currently own. -- A Mom
A while ago i wrote a review about Imagine's Fashion Designer. A superb game for girls on Nintendo DS. Now I'd like to share news about yet another great reality-game for girls... It's Ubisoft's Fashion Designer. It goes a little further than Imagine's since, in this one, player gets to cut, iron and "sew" the actual clothes he/she is designing. I thought that perhaps my daughter would find this feature a little annoying but, on the contrary, it seems to amuse her even more than Ubisoft's.
Come to think about it, I ended up concluding that, for a kid, the actual process of virtually cutting and ironing and sewing the different parts that compose a specific wardrobe piece (say a jacket, a skirt, a dress, or a shirt) adds a whole "spatial notion" on the game dynamics, since the player gets to actually picture in his/her mind how the different geometric pieces (sleeves, etc) come together to form a balanced and perfect unity. This may be a given for all of us but for a child is rather a discovery, or so I have found. On the other hand, screens and game layout are coloring and appealing, plus characters are fun and interesting. Bottom line: my daughter L*O*V*E*S this one too and plays it even MORE than Imagine's Fashion Designer. Game is so fun that every now and then it ends-up in my 1o-year old son's Nintendo DS too... So if you happen to be looking for a "sequel" to Fashion Designer, you've definitely found it. -- Awesome!
This game is different from a lot of the other fashion games out there because rather than just designing the fashions you actually cut the fabric, fold and iron the hems and sew the pieces together.

Like the other reviewer said, there is not a lot of freedom to choose what the different outfits will look like. The game is a series of challenges with a specific garment requested for each (a coat, a blouse, a dress). You can choose from 3 different sleeves, then 3 different collars, etc. and choose the fabric. There are some challenges with men's wear also. The challenges become harder as you progress, and time constraints are added in. All in all, this is a really fun, challenging game if you already own another fashion game.

My child is an aspiring fashion designer and we own every fashion video game made. The best two games I've seen are Imagine fashion for the PC, (the DS version was not as good as the PC version) and also Barbie Fashion show for the PC, which gives you a ton of design options from clothing styles and fabrics to models and footwear, to music and lighting for your fashion show. -- A Realistic sewing game
